About Me

I’m Angela, and I am lots of things. I am a wife, mom, sister, daughter, crafter, wannabe writer, mediocre photographer (but getting better!), marketer, English professor, janitor, star gazer, Mama-and-self-taught cook, and constant daydreamer. I try my very best to be optimistic, because I’ve found out the hard way that dwelling in darkness does nothing but consume you.

The name of my blog came from my graduate degree symbol. A few of my good friends and I all gave each other punctuation marks that describe our respective personalities. There’s an exclamation (always excited and happy), a semicolon (sophisticated and smart), a question mark (always questioning everything while wearing her emotions on her face), and me, the asterisk. Random with lots of stories and footnotes.

I have one major life goal: to make the world a happier place. I’m not sure how I’m going to do that, but hopefully my blog is a place to start. If carving foam pumpkins or gifting lottery tickets to someone you love makes you happy, then I’ve come that much closer to reaching my goal.

That sounds like a giant goal, but I think we all can attain it. It’s like adding drops of water to a bucket. A few drops mean nothing, but after a while our small acts add up to enhance the collective world happiness. In my head, every time we do something good, the world smiles a little. So no matter how bad things get, we can always try our hardest to do good things. I think we have an obligation to try.

I feel that we have a responsibility to this world and each other to try our best and be happy.  I try my best to stay positive and see the bright side, which can be hard in today’s scary world. But that’s more of a reason to be positive. Maybe if enough of us stay positive, we can overcome all the hate and negativity in the world.

I hope my blogs brings a little happiness into your life. Maybe I can share a recipe or craft, maybe I can help you realize you’re not alone when you’re the new mom crying at work, or maybe you can check out my blog and be motivated to write your own. Whatever it is, I hope it brings you a smile.
